BEF Campus
was established in 2006 with the specific intention
of making education easily available to all classes
of society. Traditional education has not been able
to penetrate deeper recesses of Nepal partly because
of the paucity of funds and partly because of the difficult
geographical terrain. Establishment of traditional schools
and colleges requires huge investments on infrastructure.
Distance Education is the need of the hour. The Government
of Nepal has realized the need for open learning and
has rightly taken steps to promote distance education
by passing a bill on the establishment of an Open university
in Nepal.
